The recording was made on 6th December 2008 at the choir's annual Christmas concert which is held at one of the choir's favourite venues, Pershore Abbey. This concert is always popular with the audience due to the seasonal mix of songs and carols that are performed and the atmospheric surroundings of the abbey which lend themselves so well to the occasion. This year the choir was joined by the young female chorister Elizabeth Crawford and the Holborne Brass Ensemble and organist Peter Holder.
